There are 3 MAJOR aspects to designing a “GOOD LAYOUT”
1. It should attract attention π§
2. It should please the eye of your viewers π
3. It should transmit the message clearly π¨πΌβπ«
But how do design a layout that covers all three things?
Simple.
You need to understand the 7 key concepts of Layout Designing.
FOR MAKING A PERFECT DESIGN OF A BRAND
1. KEEP IT SIMPLE
Don’t overdo your design, keep it simple. For example, more than three colors, more than two or three sources, design elements that do not carry any message or break a long text in paragraphs. Each design element must serve a purpose. Ask yourself if you need the element to understand the design.
2. NEGATIVE SPACE
The most important factor in good design is illuminating empty space or is also called negative space. An information overload can distract what is important and makes people turn off. Emptying space surrounding the text and graphic elements, creating a sense of hierarchy and puts the main focus on the most important information.
3. 3X3 MATRIX
Make a 3×3 matrix, resulting inside 9 equal boxes. Places, where the lines intersect, indicate the main focal area within its design. The rule of a third-party grid gives you the opportunity to give your chart a perfectly symmetrical appearance, but you want to crush that instinct.
While symmetry is always necessary for good design, use the asymmetric balance to your advantage. The usage of a third-party rule, the grid helps you maintain a good balance while maintaining asymmetrical things.
4. THE GOLDEN RATIO
It is believed that these proportions are pleasant to the eyes and creation of balance because we can find them everywhere around us, even in ourselves. Divide geometric elements into proportions of 1:1.618. Create a grid in your design program based on the balance by finding the correct proportions.
5. VISUAL HIERARCY
The visual hierarchy is a method to organize design elements in order of importance. Since the brain processes the images faster than the text, readers can scan the page quickly at the top right, then on the page diagonally. Also, larger elements make more attention than the smaller elements. So keep that in mind.
6. COLOR CONTRAST
Colour contrast can highlight important information. The colour can cause special elements of your design to stand out. The human eye perceives cold colours closer than warm colours. The mixture of the warms and colours can create depths, as well as perspective.
7. PROPORTIONAL SCALE
High resolution means high quality, but it also means a long loading time and large storage space. For the web, you don’t really need a very high resolution. For the web, the loading time is important, so you need to have a small file. Keep it proportional to the website.
